Ying Ling, is the name of my grandmother, she is an old lady born in the early days of the founding of the Republic, and the history of new China is closely linked, ordinary but tough. Her life is like a living documentary manual of new China's rural areas, through her life, we can glimpse the development and changes of China's rural areas and how the historical process is reflected in the individual.
All the contents of this book are factual records of what actually happened. I combed Yingling's memory through interviews. Besides narrating Yingling's life, I also showed readers the different lifestyles of rural areas in northwest China at different historical stages, and inserted some interesting stories to paint a dynamic picture of rural life in Northwest China. It takes the reader into those not-so-distant but somewhat obscure times.
